Цели урока:

  1. Познакомить учащихся с материалом по данной теме.
  2. Углубить и расширить знания по теме.
  3. Совершенствовать умения и навыки практического владения английским языком по данной теме по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудированию, говорению, чтению и письму.
  4. Воспитывать любовь к своему поселку.

Оснащение урока: карта ЕАО, фотография поселка, раздаточный материал, тексты с рассказом.

Ход урока.

1.Good morning everybody. I am very happy to see you at the lesson. It is devoted to our settlement. So the theme of our lesson is:

“Khingansk is my Maly Motherland”

I am sure you have got useful information about it. Be active, industrious and helpful. Let’s talk about place where we live. Before you will know some new words the theme.

3. Чтение текста:

I live in the settlement of Khingansk. It is situated in the Far East in the Jewish Autonomous Region of the Obluchensky District. My settlement stands on the Khingan river among the hills. From the highest place which is called ”Mayak” we can receive a beautiful view of the whole my settlement. I can say that is not very large but it’s modern.

My settlement plays an important part in economic life of our country. There is a mine in it. Miners extract tin. Tin which is extracted in our  place is the cheapest one. At the present moment the population of Khingansk is over 3000 people. It was founded in the year when the Great Patriotic War ended on the 9th of May in 1945. The first builders were front-line soldiers. They built a factory and later a mine they put a nice park. Now the trees became very big. There is a stadium for sport in settlement. Swimming-pool was built not so long. Grown-ups and children like swimming in it. Trees were planted around it. We can buy what we want in some shops. We can see five-storeyed buildings in our settlement. There is building of school where children get a secondary education. If we are not so well we can go to the policlinic. Young people go to the Palace of Culture.

Our settlement is famous for its nature. The nature around it is real wonderful. It is a nice place in all seasons of the year. Winter is very cold and long. It last from November until April. A ground is covered with snow. The most beautiful is a birch forest in winter.

When the spring comes we can see the first flowers: yellow and blue snowdrops. Subbotniks are organized and we take an active part in spring cleaning.

My place is more beautiful in summer when the trees are green and there are many flowers. In summer and autumn we gather berries and mushrooms. In June we can gather suckle and strawberries. In August and September people go to the forest to pick red bilberries and mushrooms. We love our place where we live.

-I don’t think so. It’s not very large but it’s modern.
-I am proud of it because it plays an important part in economic life of our country. And you?
-Oh, I am too. Although it’s not very large but tin which is extracted in our place need my country.
-Besides. It is the cheapest tin.
-Yes, I agree with you. And what do you know about the foundation of our settlement?
-It was founded in the 9th of may in 1945. Say what it means.
-I say that my native settlement was founded when the Great Patriotic War ended.
-Who were the first builders?
-They were front-line soldiers.

-Yes, it is very wonderful.
-I consider my place is very nice in all season of the year.
-Especially the most beautiful is a birch forest in winter. Do you like winter in our place.
-Oh, no I hate winter.
-Why?
-Because it’s very cold and long. It last from November till April in our place.
-What season do you like in our place?
-I like when the spring comes we can see the first flowers and I like taking part in spring cleaning.

-Our settlement is very beautiful in all season of the year, isn’t it?
-Yes, I agree with you. But it is more beautiful in summer.
-Why do you think so.
-Because the trees are many beautiful flowers and we can swim in our swimming-pool. Do you like swimming?
-Oh, yes. I like swimming too. Besides we can go to the forest to pick suckle, strawberries and red bilberries.
-I want to add that we can gather mushrooms in the forest.
